Cody resident Richard Jones has spent most of his adult life in Wyoming and most of his career in wild places. He began working as a volunteer in 1976 for the Shoshone National Forest. In 1982 he was commissioned as a National Park Service Law Enforcement Ranger and served primarily in the Yellowstone backcountry. Additionally, he worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service investigating international smuggling of wildlife, and he served as a backcountry ranger in Alaska’s Lake Clark National Park. If that was not enough adventure, Richard Jones has been a pilot for over 30 years. He was the pilot/research assistant for the Bighorn Basin Golden Eagle Research Project from 2007-2022.
